One of the reasons I love being a photographer is because of sessions like this maternity photo shoot. I've had the privilege of photographing Lindsay and Marcus' family for the past 5 years and I've been able to capture their engagement, wedding, first pregnancy, baby girl, and now this pregnancy. There's really nothing better for a photographer than getting to see your clients grow their families and expand their memories with photos.
As a portrait photographer, I like to meet with my clients prior to their session to learn about their vision and then we plan together to make sure we capture life long memories that my clients will cherish. Lindsay came to my studio for her planning session and shared with me that they were waiting to find out the gender of this baby but wanted to incorporate both the fall season (baby is due in October) as well as some photos with the river. Lindsay and Marcus have a 2 year old daughter so we also needed a fun location for their daughter to run around and play. We decided on the Hood River waterfront as it provided beautiful settings for photographs and also had a huge sandbar for Aspen to run around a play.
We lucked out on the weather and had a gorgeous fall evening for Lindsay's maternity photo session. All together we spent about an hour capturing photos down at the waterfront. We started near the shade while we waited for the golden light to really add some extra glow to these lovely maternity photos. The rich glow of the autumn sun really added to the already beautiful glow radiating from this gorgeous momma-to-be.
